The Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP) is a short, structured course for parents designed to help them understand the impact of ongoing parental conflict on their children.

The programme provides advice and support about how to best help children in this situation and enables parents to take steps towards their own solutions.

It isn't a programme about your parenting skills, but does give you information and ideas about separated parenting and can point you towards the help that is available for you.

What happens in a SPIP session?

The programme is four hours long and is delivered to both parents separately, in mixed groups of 8-10 people.

Attending separate groups allows you and your ex-partner to explore specifc aspects of the process that you need to think about, and gives you both the space to consider the other's perspective.

SPIP sessions are delivered by skilled, trained facilitators who will help you think about possible next steps.

What is the cost of the programme?

The programme is free to parents referred by the courts. It's also now available to parents outside of the court process at a cost of £150.00.

A certificate of attendance will be issued once you have completed the programme.
