Relate media team: Christine Northam

BACP (Accred), Relate Certified Counsellor, Dip. Systemic Practice with Couples and Families, MBACP.

Christine, who has been working with Relate for almost ten years, is a highly experienced counsellor working with individuals and couples coping with relationship difficulties. These difficulties can include infidelity, communication problems, parenting, bereavement, low self-esteem, domestic violence, mental health, sexual abuse and addiction.

She has also conducted Relate for Parents sessions which provide information and advice to parents during separation and divorce.

She acts as a facilitator in awareness groups for counsellors in training.

Since joining the Relate National Media Team five years ago, she has rapidly gained experience having been widely quoted on a range of relationship issues in all the national print media. She has written for Good Housekeeping, Easy Living, Handbag.com, The Times, Mother and Baby Centre.co.uk, ivillage.co.uk, Soap Life and bbc.co.uk. She has also acted as a consultant for Relate publications.

Christine has a busy private practice, is a director of an e-based learning system company, and a business partner in a management training organisation. Other charitable work includes fund-raising for the NSPCC.

She is married with three sons who all work in the media industry
