How can Relate help my family?

Relate exists to help people with their relationships. Couples, individuals, children, young people and whole families can access the expert help provided by Relate. Relate and Tesco understand the impact recessions can have on relationships, that’s why we are promoting use of Relate's ‘Recession Package’, which provides emotional support, help, and guidance to parents and individuals impacted by the recession.

 

Relate is providing Tesco staff and their families access to confidential sessions with a Relate Counsellor online or by telephone. The service is completely confidential and does not require any referral from Tesco.

What help is available?

1. Free online support via Live Chat

Counsellors provide instant, confidential, one-to-one emotional support to individuals, couples, parents and grandparents on recession or relationship issues, online over the internet. This live chat service provides instant help. There is no time limit restriction on the use of this service – live chat sessions typically last an average of 30-40 minutes - and you can use the service as many times as you like.

 

Opening Hours:

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

7pm to 9pm, Sunday, Monday & Wednesday

 

Relate can also provide live chats by appointment outside these hours. To request an appointment please email relateforparents@relate.org.uk or telephone 0300 100 1234.

 

To use Live Chat, click on the button below. You will be asked for some basic information, which will help Relate keep the service free, i.e. first name, age, gender, ethnicity, and the first part of your postcode. This information is only held by Relate and is not shared with Tesco or any other organisation.

2. Free SMS support via mobile phone

Text a Relate Counsellor for free with a question about your family relationships, and receive a quick reply back to your mobile phone with support, advice, and information.

3. Telephone counselling

These are one hour sessions with a Counsellor and are charged at £15 each (usually £45). The service is completely confidential for you and your family and does not require a referral from Tesco.
 
Telephone counselling sessions can be booked by calling 0300 100 1234, when booking make the consultants aware you are a Tesco employee or family member so that you get the reduced rate. Relate accepts all major credit and debit cards for this service.

 

Opening Hours for Relate telephone counselling:

8am to 9pm Monday to Thursday

8am to 5pm Friday

10am to 12pm Saturday

4. Face-to-face counselling in your local area

Relate has a network of Centres and Counsellors across the UK that can provide face-to-face counselling sessions. For more information, or to book a face-to-face appointment call 0300 100 1234. When booking, make the consultants aware you are a Tesco employee or family member so that you get a reduced rate of £45 per session.
