Relate is seeking people with skills and experience at senior management / board level to serve as trustees / directors on the national Relate Federation Council.

Council currently meets x4 overnight meetings per year. In addition to this, Council members normally attend the national AGM and may attend x4 regional meetings per year. There is also opportunity for involvement in sub-committees, working groups etc.

With over 60 years experience, Relate is the largest provider of relationship support in the UK. We deliver individual, couple and family counselling, education and training sex therapy and a range of other services to support people as they face family transitions. We deliver services in over 500 locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Over 2000 Relate trained experts help over 130,000 people each year through face to face contact, telephone helplines and online consultation. Further information is available on this website.

Experience

On the basis of a recent skills audit, Relate would particularly welcome people with skills in the following areas:
- counselling or therapy (inside or outside Relate)
- equality and diversity
- public policy / government
- media
- property management and development
- insurance
- research

However, applications from people with other senior management or board experience are also very much encouraged.
