Our Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the day to day running of Relate.
Chris Sherwood, CEO
Chris joined Relate in 2012 as Director of Policy, Communications and Digital Services. Since joining the organisation he has been instrumental in devising the 2015-18 Corporate Strategy, developing our digital services, and growing our influencing and campaigning voice. Chris was appointed as CEO in July 2015.
Chris joined Relate from Scope where he was the Director of Innovation and Development. He was previously a Senior Development Manager at Nesta where he led their work on Co-production, People Powered Health and Ageing.
Chris has over ten years’ experience of working in the voluntary sector and prior to this he worked in Westminster and local government. His career interest to date has been on policy, innovation and service improvement in welfare to work, family support and adult social care.
Chris holds a degree in History and Society from Exeter University.
Jeni Graham, Director of Corporate Resources & Organisational Development
Jeni is a qualified Chartered Accountant whose experience spans the charity sector, higher education, local government and the private sector. She has been in senior management positions for 20 years and has held many complex leadership roles within start-ups, fast growing companies and organisations going through change. Jeni has cross functional experience in general management, finance, people management and organisational development, IT, change management, programme management, process development and re-engineering and performance management together with a strong track record working internationally. She is also experienced at working at Board level, is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the IOD. She has held senior roles at Bournemouth University, Gemini Consulting (Cap Gemini), Cable and Wireless, and most recently with Compassion in World Farming.
Huw Thomas, Director of Policy, Information and Communications
Huw joined Relate in May 2016 from the University of East London where he was an Associate Director for marketing services and fundraising. Before this, he held a post as Deputy Director of Communications and Marketing at the Big Lottery Fund. Huw is also a Trustee of Citizens Advice Haringey.
His background and interests are in policy, partnership and communication programmes that allow charities to access funding. During his time at the Big Lottery Fund he led on customer insight projects and their UK information and advice service.
