What is the Relate 4 Parents Service?
Relate 4 Parents is a service offering support and information to any parent, whether you are living together with your children, or you are a single parent, a step-parent, separating or separated parent. The only criteria is that you wish to focus on the needs of your child and are willing to collaborate to improve your relationship with them.
How to get Started
Call us to register.
Once you have registered with us, you will be offered an initial assessment with one of our Children and young people's counsellors. They will discuss your specific concerns and what kind of help and resources would be most appropriate for you.
When you start your Relate 4 Parents sessions
If you and the counsellor agree that further sessions would be helpful we can offer you up to 2 further sessions. These will usually be weekly and last for up to 50 minutes each.
When will the Relate 4 Parents service help?
The service can provide support, advice and information on issues such as disagreements about differences in parenting style, or how to talk to your child about separation, divorce or a bereavement. The sessions are focused on the areas of concern you have about your child and are designed to enhance your parenting skills, extend your knowledge of your child’s development and behaviour, and gain insight into the issues you may be struggling with.
How much will it cost?
The initial assessment process costs £65 per session, if ongoing counselling is agreed, each weekly session will cost £65. Funding and bursary information is available on our how much do we charge page
