Courses for school staff
Coping with emotional people
A short introduction to dealing with emotional individuals and situations to achieve a positive outcome. Includes sessions on building a rapport and planning for difficult interviews.
Understanding and managing conflict
An explanation of the attributes and impacts of conflicts. The course aims to develop participants’ understanding of the issues involved in managing conflict and provide skills to respond effectively to conflict situations.
Supporting children through separation
This course aims to explore a child’s experience of separation and loss along with the staff members’ role in supporting children through this type of experience. It will equip staff to support children experiencing significant family changes including parental separation.
Introduction to counselling skills
A brief introduction to counselling skills and their use in a school setting. The aim of the course is to offer a framework and some of the skills necessary for working one to one with individuals and families.
Training for school students
We provide Peer Listener/Peer Mediator training for school students. These programmes helps students learn the skills they will need to be listeners or mediators for their own school community.
Often used as part of the schools’ anti-bullying programme, peer support schemes are very successful in increasing student participation and encouraging a supportive culture within school.
We also provide mentoring skills training for students which provide a basis for coaching and mentoring schemes in school.
