Volunteer with us

Do you want to make a difference to people's lives?  Do you have a few hours to spare? We could use your help.

New Trustee and Treasurer

We need an additional Trustee to be our Treasurer to help us support clients and develop our services in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, especially following the impact of the pandemic on all of our lives.

What will you be doing?

Do you empathise with our work, and are willing to support what we do by working with a dynamic team of trustees and staff to further develop the charity and its services?  Do you have business or not-for-profit experience and an accountancy qualification?  Can you spare a few hours each month to support us? If so then we would be delighted to hear from you and receive your application.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has empathy toward our work, is enthusiastic about helping and can bring a different set of skills to the team.

Our trustees meet monthly in Worcester or by Zoom throughout the year to consider and review Relate Severn and Wye's strategic direction and its business development plans. We need a person who can commit to attending these meetings and occasional other meetings such as the AGM.  In addition the Treasurer will need to spend a few hours each month preparing the monthly accounts pack.

What difference will you make?

You will be part of the Board of Trustees and in this role you will contribute to the strategic direction of the charity. Your input into regularly reviewing our services against the agreed business objectives will be vital to help our charity to maintain and further develop its sustainability and impact for local people.

What's in it for the volunteer?

Your role as Trustee is vital in helping us offer appropriate services to local clients, both face to face and by telephone or webcam contributing to a sustainable future for our charity.

We have a broad mix of skills, knowledge and experience amongst our trustees and each person has much to offer. We work in a professional manner and exhibit strong governance of the charity. We are a friendly bunch with an informal style. You will receive a very warm welcome, cake and biscuits! You will receive a full induction and support to help you settle into the Trustee role.

If you are interested please e-mail jayne.hall@relate.org.uk in the first instance with a brief resume.

Receptionists

Some of our venues need volunteer receptionists to help during clinical hours.  If you live near one of our venues and are free when they operate, give us a call.

Previous experience is not necessary, just an organised and empathetic nature.
