Jo-Anne Carden, Centre Director

Jo Anne CardenJo has delegated responsibility from the Board of Trustees for the strategic and operational management of Relate Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Worthing & Districts.

Jo has worked in the charity sector for over 20 years and has experience working both as a front line worker and manager. Jo brings this experience to her role as Centre Director, responsible for service development and our relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders and commissioners. 


Barbara Green, Operations Manager 

Barbara GreenBarbara oversees and supports the work of the busy reception teams in our Brighton and Worthing locations and supports services in Haywards Heath, Eastbourne and Lewes. She regularly reviews service statistics and uses this information to improve and extend our services for clients in the future.


Bernice Taylor, Worthing Reception Manager

Bernice TaylorBernice manages our reception team at our Worthing location. She books appointments with clients and manages the counsellors diaries. 


Katie Clammer, Brighton Senior Appointments Secretary

Kate ClammerKatie is responsible for the training and management of the Brighton reception team and ensuring the smooth running of all appointments and administration in our main centre and our satellite offices.


Carol Buck, Principal Counsellor

Carol BuckCarol works with clients in the adult Relationship Counselling services, she supports the counselling team and is a member of our management team.


Janet Sutherland, HR and Governance Manager

Janet SutherlandJanet is responsible for human resources and governance. She also manages the building resources and arranges training events for the counselling team alongside other activities including fundraising.


Niall MacLellan, Clinical Supervisor

Niall is responsible for the clinical supervision of all our relationship counsellors.

The team at Relate North & South West Sussex

Sue Quinn, Manager North & South West Sussex

Sue QuinnSue has over 30 year experience working in Relate and has delegated authority from the Board of Trustees for the strategic and operational management of Relate North & South West Sussex.

Sue is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the Centre as well as managing relationships with partners, stakeholders and funders.

Denise Ledger, Finance Manager

Denise LedgerDenise manages all our financial processes including running the accounts, payroll and arranging all financial transactions. 


Chris George, Appointments/Personnel Administrator

Chris GeorgeChris overseas client appointment bookings, supports our team of receptionists and maintains our personnel administration systems.


Alex Psaila, Supervisor

Alex provides clinical guidance for our counselling team.

Our counsellors and therapists

We have a team of highly trained and experienced relationship counsellors and sex therapists that work across our locations. They work to the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality and work within the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Our counsellors receive regular support and supervision and take part in continuous professional development training.

Sex therapists, family counsellors and young people’s counsellors are experienced relationship counsellors who have had further specialised training.
