What will we do with your personal information?
We will use your personal information to reply to any correspondence or jobs applications you have sent us, for quality, training and evaluation purposes, to help us monitor and improve our services, or to provide services you have requested (such as Live Chat, personality profiler, face to face, telephone, and email counselling services).
By using this website and submitting your information to us, you agree to us using your personal information in accordance with these terms and conditions. We will not use your personal information for any other purposes.
We also use aggregated non-personal user data to analyse information such as where in the UK users come from, what type of questions they're asking, and whether we were able to give them information or advice that was useful.

How do we protect your personal information?
We make every effort to ensure that your personal information is held securely and to safeguard against unauthorised access to your personal information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We strive to protect your personal information after we have received it, however you acknowledge that the privacy of your communications and personal information can never be completely guaranteed when it is being transmitted.
Will my personal data be shared with other organisations?
Your personal data provided by you via our website will only be used by Relate Ltd.
However, we may need to pass your personal data to one of our regional Centres or Counsellors to allow us to provide you with the services you may have requested. All of our Centres and Counsellors are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and adhere to strict security standards.
We also use a third party service for the distribution of our email newsletters. If you sign up to receive this, we will store your email address with this service.
How long will you keep my personal data?
We will retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for the required service to be provided to you. All retained personal data is subject to the controls of our data protection policy and will be securely disposed of when it is considered to be of no further use.
Where will my personal data be kept?
Once we have received your personal data we will use recognised industry standard procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
Your personal data will be under the control of Relate Ltd. It will be held on our computer system. Parts of our computer system, including our website and email are provided by our UK suppliers of computer systems, and are provided for Relate Ltd sole use. When we print your personal data this will be in the possession and control of our employees in our regional centres.
Personal data about unsuccessful candidates who have applied for jobs at Relate Ltd will be kept for six months after the recruitment process is completed, at which point it will be disposed of securely.
We would like to contact you for marketing purposes and to promote new services. This may be by post, telephone, or email. If you do not wish to receive direct marketing from us please contact us with your request.
Access to your personal data (subject access requests)
You have the right, under the Data Protection Act 1998, to be provided with a permanent copy of certain personal data that Relate Ltd holds about you.

Webcam couselling uses the Zoom plugin. The plugin will not collect your personal information and sessions are not recorded. Video calls take place using Secure Socket Layer (SSL)encryption to ensure they remain confidential. You will be sent details about your session by email. If you want to keep these details private please use an email address that only you have access to.
The Zoom plugin will remain on your device once the session has finished, it will also leave cookies. However, these will not contain identifiable information about you or your counselling session.
If you want to delete all traces of Zoom you'll need to:
- uninstall the Zoom plugin
- delete your internet history for the day you had counselling
- delete any cookies the Zoom plugin has left on your device
