Relationship Counsellors

We are looking for experienced couple counsellors to work both online and face to face in North West London, Central London, Mid Thames and Bucks and Hertfordshire.

We want to expand access to Relate relationship counselling and meet considerable demand Relate North Thames & Chilterns (RNTC) are urgently recruiting experienced couples counsellors, Psychosexual therapists and family counsellors who may have previously worked for Relate or trained elsewhere.

Pay dependent on the number of sessions offered.

If you can offer at least 315 prime time counselling sessions annually (i.e  7 hours a week after 5pm Mon-Fri, at weekends or before 9am) we pay our Grade 3 rate of £27.92 inclusive of holiday pay per hour

PLUS up to 48 hours paid for supervision and mandatory CPD

We require our paid counsellors to deliver at least 240 prime time hours annually (about 6 per week) which is paid at our Grade 2 of £23.81. Additional day time hours are paid at the rate of either £23.81 or £19.60.

Qualifications

Experienced counsellors can begin to work for Relate without additional training if their qualifications meet the Relate Assessment of Prior Experience & Learning (APEL) requirements.

To be considered for the APEL scheme you must have more than 5 years counselling experience and either experience of working with couples or a qualification which equips you to do so.  If you have no couple counselling experience, you may still be able to apply but you will need to undertake some additional training.

About us

Relate NTC operates across eight London boroughs as well as Hertfordshire, the Mid Thames region and Buckinghamshire,  providing relationship counselling, psychosexual therapy, education, family counselling, young people’s counselling, training and mediation. We have counselling venues in Westminster, Maidenhead and Hemel Hempstead but the majority of our work is currently being carried out online using Zoom. We employ around 60 practitioners providing a total of approximately 15,000 sessions each year. In addition, there is a team of 20 support staff.
